As
Health Program Manager in the
Chronic Disease Management Team,
Maine Center for Disease Control and
Prevention, you will oversee the
planning, implementation, and
evaluation of two chronic disease
programs - Cardiovascular Health and
Diabetes. You will provide
leadership to develop program goals
and objectives, monitor program
progress, administer grants,
collaborate with internal and
external partners, and oversee the
work of program personnel.
Responsibilities include providing
overall direction for planning,
implementing, and evaluating
statewide program efforts and
developing and monitoring contracts
and budgets. Knowledge of public
health practices related to
cardiovascular disease and diabetes
prevention and control is necessary
as well as public health planning,
implementation, and evaluation
techniques. Qualifications:
A Bachelor's Degree in Public Health
or Health Sciences, Health
Education, one of the Behavioral
Sciences, Public Administration,
Education, or related fields
–AND- three (3) years experience
in health program planning,
development, implementation, and
evaluation –OR- an equivalent
seven (7) year combination of
education, training, and

JOB
DESCRIPTION:
The Maine Department
of Education is seeking an
experienced physical education
professional to provide leadership
and direction regarding physical
education curriculum, instructional
practices and student assessment to
K-12 school administrative units.
The position works to coordinate the
planning, development,
implementation and supervision of
statewide programs to enhance
teaching and ensure students’
opportunities to achieve the
physical education standards
outlined in Maine’s Learning
Results and works within
the context of Coordinated School
Health Programs (CSHP). The position
also assists with the Maine
Schoolsite Health Promotion Program
and with Healthy Maine Partnerships
schools.
MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS:
The position requires
a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical
Education, Adapted Physical
Education or a related field and
four (4) years professional level
experience in teaching, planning,
implementing and assessing physical
education programs. A Master’s
Degree in Physical Education or a
related field may be substituted for
one year professional experience.
Preferred candidates will have a
Master’s degree and experience in
implementing comprehensive K-12
physical education programs and in
designing and delivering
professional development in physical
education. Candidates must
