Public Health System Assessment

Purpose/Goals:

The purpose of this project was to conduct a rigorous system-based assessment of the local public health system in Portland, Maine (2005) and Bangor, Maine (2006) based on the 10 Essential Public Health Services framework and nationally derived performance standards.  The quantitative and qualitative results of the assessment are intended to serve as the impetus for the development of a strategic plan or a public health system improvement plan.
