The Healthy Maine Partnerships (HMP)
were established January 15, 2001. The HMP is a
collaborative effort between multiple state programs at the
Maine Center for Disease Control, Office of Substance Abuse, and
Department of Education and local coalitions. The local
intervention sites are based in eight public health districts
covering the entire state. Each district has at least one
Comprehensive Community Health Coalition that addresses public
health issues using a community-based approach.
Our role at the Maine Center for
Public Health is to coordinate a comprehensive evaluation of the
HMP statewide partners and local coalitions. The specific
state programs that are part of the HMP evaluation include the:
Partnership For A Tobacco-Free Maine, Physical Activity and
Nutrition Program, and Maine Cardiovascular Health Program. |
