Common Ground:
Transforming Public Health Information Systems
Purpose/Goals:
MCPH is assisting Maine CDC’s Office of Public Health
Informatics and other stakeholders with the implementation of
the RWJF Common Ground grant. Common Ground supports state
and local public health collaboration in the analysis and
redesign of their business processes in order to develop
functional requirements definitions for information systems,
with particular attention to public health emergency
preparedness processes such as Early Detection and Situational
Awareness. OPHI’s overall goal for this project is to realize
immediate improvements to statewide public health preparedness
planning and to standardize and disseminate an approach for
information system development.
