The Board of Directors of the Maine Center for Public Health voted to dissolve the private non-profit and transfer the activities and mission of the Center to the University of Southern Maine, Muskie School of Public Service.  The Center served as Maine’s affiliate to the National Network of Public Health Institutes and the Muskie School will continue to build research and academic practice capacity as a public health institute. 

The Muskie School will maintain the collaborative relationships that the Maine Center for Public Health developed over the course of 12 years, will develop further strategic alliances, and will continue to work closely with the Maine CDC as a laboratory for developing new programs, best practices and furthering a common research agenda for public health in Maine.
